The provocative title seems counter-intuitive, maybe even slightly kitschy and annoying but as Fr. Allen explains the saying might be taken in a shallow way or it might spur us to enter into the more complex hopeful aspects of our spiritual growth, particularly during Lent. Examing the temptations of Christ as aspects of our own daily temptations, Fr. Allen commends a daily practice of "arrow prayers" that might help bring focus to this season.
