This is one of 4 "extraordinary conversations with Jesus" offered to us by John's Gospel; today's reading, the story of Jesus' encounter with an unnamed Samaritan woman at a well (and later her fellow Samaritan villagers) can be approached in a number of ways. Fr. Allen names some of these ways and then decides to unpack the story from the perspective of the Samaritan woman's experience.
