JUNE 11, 2023 LISTEN AND RESPOND TO THE DIVINE CALL
At every point in our lives, we either daydream, dream pies in the sky, dream dreams or we simply make plans. It might not be surprising that some of us are still hoping for some of those dreams to come true – like being numbered in the fortune 500 magazines, owning that piece of jewelry or yacht. Throughout life there are plans surrounding education, economics, family especially marriage, employment, and relocation. Let’s visit with two outstanding characters Abraham and Matthew in our readings this morning, to see what we can glean from them as we continue our spiritual journey. I will focus more on Matthew’s story and incorporate Abraham's towards the end. In the natural, they too planned their lives. Here in the story, we are told of their most unexpected conversations with the divine – one received an instruction to go; the other, an instruction to follow.
