Dear Friends,
We are on the eve of Holy Week, that amazing time of the year when we slow down to take in the significance of what Jesus Christ accomplished for the sake of humanity. I am continually amazed at how Jesus' teaching and what he did by becoming "the always visible victim of human violence" e.g. the crosses we wear as jewelry, is still unfolding in the world's anguish over suffering of various kinds, an anguish that simply was not present before he came. Holy Week is the time we have been given to sit in awe, to recommit to being his follower, and to ask how it is we can live from the "amazing grace" that continually saves all the "beautiful wretches" that make up our species. I hope you can join us for the Triduum (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter).
Here are the events of Holy Week:
April 10th, 11:00 am -- On Palm Sunday we will be able to receive communion after both kinds.
April 14th, 7:30 pm -- Maundy Thursday. A service in the round featuring "hand-washing" and simple replication of the Last Supper. This will be intimate and meaningful. We will also "bring in the cross" and "strip the altar."
April 15th, 11 am -- Good Friday Service of the Word -- A Celebration of the Lord's Passion.
April 17th, 11 am -- Easter Sunday Holy Eucharist -- A Celebration of the Resurrection
