In the second of three sermons on Ecclesiastes, Fr. Allen comments on the famous poem on time in which "the Teacher" in the persona of Solomon wants to affirm that everything in life is fleeting but everything, all seasons, have a place in "God's whole." There is both comfort and challenge in this knowledge and Fr. Allen draws out the distinctive nature of this teacher in contrast to superficial spirituality and secular philosophy.
