Tucked within a typical story of the end of the age with it's binary certainties and "whew, all the bad guys are going to get what's coming to them" feeling, is a small "chard of weakness" to use one of Fr. Allen's metaphors from today's sermon celebrating "The Reign of Christ." The sermon unpacks that and other interesting and dichotomy's in a text that is by turns horrifying and beautiful. In the end, if we don't wrestle with the counter-intuitive nature of Christ's reign it's doubtful we'll be able to share God's good news in a way that changes us and the world around us.
